Well, well well - back on MTS again after we thought
is was long dead.

I know, I want Confer(tm) as well - JP is working on it. In the
meantime - lets use this space.

back on the system.

3/2. John Palmer 19:45 Sat Dec 3/22 4 lines

Good news - the last version of MTS that was produced
will soon be available and it may have Confer on it.
Hopefully we can upgrade to that. Will keep you
informed. -JP

3/42. Lee Crashmeyer 18:42 Thu Mar 23/23 13 lines

My my - some saucy conversations here,

I'm Lee Crashmeyer, a member of the PANDA
Union and systematical programmer in
ComputerLand service King Frank and others.

Although he is my friend, I gotta watch out
for Flash Mack as he is always crashing into me.

Still a fighter against the ADS (Agitators for a
Detatched System) freaks. I was one of the
young men who "went west" to get the MTS Tapes
from PrestigeLand.

3/43. John Palmer 18:49 Thu Mar 23/23 8 lines

WELCOME LEE. I remember you from the old days.
There was some program that they used from Confer
that displayed the date and time in a certain
format that you wrote that everyone used, but it
broke when we upgraded to d6.0 and all the Confer
users were bummed out. Do you remember that?

Anyeays - Glad you're here.

3/44. John Palmer 18:52 Thu Mar 23/23 2 lines

Get your crash pads on - I may have found Flash
Mack..... Or Tom Stevenson did.

3/45. Lee Crashmeyer 18:53 Thu Mar 23/23 3 lines

DAMN YOU STEVENSON - You were always trouble -)

I hope he crashes into you now instead of me.

3/46. John Palmer 20:58 Thu Mar 23/23 2 lines

He hasn't responded to my e-mail yet, I sent
it about a week ago.

3/47. Paul O'Leary 15:42 Sun Mar 26/23 9 lines

I read about Flash Mack in the computer comics.
I was impressed at how fast he could move between
the 360 console, tape drives and printers. Might
be quite the fireworks to get him on here with
Ric Hill and Dave Jacobs. All of them are in a
permanently caffeinated state!

Wonder if Flash Mack still wears his robin hood hat
with the feather and still carries around his blankie.

3/48. John Palmer 23:43 Sun Mar 26/23 5 lines

Oh Good Lord! NO, that may be too intense. Dave will
cry out in horror that he doesn't have any place to
put his hot registers and Flash Mack will bowl over
Crashmeyer trying to catch the falling registers, breaking
Lee's hip for sure!

3/49. Lee Crashmeyer 10:38 Mon Mar 27/23 3 lines

I'm not going to be in a room with him every.
Can't afford to be laid up after hip surgery.
I have enough issues already.

3/50. King Frank 21:15 Mon Mar 27/23 4 lines

Those were some spectaular crashes. I remember
the day you were carrying a huge deck of cards
with some MTS assembler code and Flash knocked you
over sending the cards flying everywhere!

3/51. John Palmer 00:03 Tue Mar 28/23 10 lines

Glad you're on King Frank! You and I may have
been able to make a deal. I was always annoyed
that the CSC (C&IT later) viewed the system as
for elites only. We finally got a miserly student
account program in the late 80's, but the ADS people
were still hanging around. Only thing is, once they
lost the ADS battle and we got MTS, they locked it
down like Fort Knox. I was a warrior who got a
lot of scars trying to fight them. I was only
marginably successful.

3/52. Siobhan Medbhb O'Roarke 07:28 Thu Mar 30/23 5 lines

As conference organizer, let me welcome the
esteemed Dr. King Frank, Flash Mack and Lee
to the conference. We are really assembling the
old gang, aren't we? I'm trying to find our old
patron Hal who ran HBK5:Muse in the olden days.

3/53. John ZNBR ZBBB 20:23 Thu Mar 30/23 13 lines

Yes, the SAP (Student Account Program) of
which this esteemed ZBNR is was part, was indeed
flimsy. It was watered down by people like Al
McCord and Mort Rahimi who were more interested
in sucking up to the commercial customer. They
did this by misappropriating the equipment
that belonged to the students and using it to
ingratiate themselves with people from whom they
hoped to get future jobs in the real world. Again,
the reason they had to suck on it so hard was that
they were talentless loosers who couldn't make it
by merit and therefore were reduced to trying
bribery, with OUR money and OUR mainframe.

3/54. Louis Sequin 22:27 Thu Mar 30/23 7 lines

As a beneficiary (or maybe victim) of the
SAP, I can attest to the fact that the
program was designed by a skinflint.

I heard that the name McCord and Rahimi were
attached to the effort to water it down, but
what do I know?

3/55. John Palmer 05:11 Fri Apr 7/23 10 lines

I just found that dick who worked for The
WSU poooleeeece that Rahmi and co sent after
me in 1983 when they wanted to shut down the
ideaSystem and eliminate any opposition to their
ADS ativities. His name is Len Corsetti (@LenCorsetti on
Twitter). He isn't too bad a guy - seems like he
is a MAGA patriot (we need more of them). Anyways
check him out on Twitter and gently hollar at
him for being a part of the 1980's incarnation of
the ADS scourage.

3/56. Paul O'Leary 07:57 Wed Apr 12/23 20 lines

The WSU police are, and always have been thugs
who regularily to the bidding of the univerisity
admin. You are correct - Adamany was a son of a
bitch. I remember them beating up that elderly
professor - I think he was an English prof. He
had a fractured skull. Sued the U and got $25mm
settlement. Adamany should have been jailed for
that along with the PD thugs.

I agree also that the SAP was watered down by
the "ADS" folks at the Center. I know McCord and
Rahimi were the masterminds of that butchery. They
should have just modelled it after U o M's "request
id" program, but no, they cared only about the
mega-corps and the Army to whom they sold away
our mainframe time. You are right, it was OUR
machine, they had the responsibility to run it
FOR US and not give it away to some rich companies
so that they could get cushy jobs later at those
companies.

3/57. John Palmer 12:26 Wed Apr 12/23 3 lines

I'm trying to find an archive of The South End. They
had several good expose's on this. If you know where
to find them, let me know.

3/58. Tom Stevenson 19:53 Thu Apr 13/23 1 line

Hey Lee, glad I could find Flash for you ->

3/59. IWGY A Number 10:03 Mon Apr 17/23 5 lines

Hello from the College of Engg. You can design code
for the 6502. We won't sell you these moduuuls but
we can get you a number (And I think Jerian is somehow
involved here, but I never figured out how - He was
concerned about the 'user database'... or something).

3/60. MTS Guns Forum 10:25 Mon Apr 17/23 7 lines

Hello - I would like to welcome all gun owners and
others who are interested to join the conference
Guns.

We'll discuss legal issues (gun rights), training,
skills, self defense tactics, technology and any
other firearms related issues.

3/61. John Palmer 10:30 Mon Apr 17/23 (revised) 15 lines

IWGY: Hello old friend from my brief stay in
the college of Engg. I remember that class and
the cute way of referencing the hallowed ccids.
(I have some numbers). Also, remember being in that
classroom with Chuck Jerian. He was wierding out
on the phone - I suspect he was talking to Claire
and she probably 1) Had no clue about what he was
babbling on about or 2) Knew about him and was letting
it go in one ear and our the other. He came before
me. I followed in his footsteps but was treated
differently for a number of reasons (They had a
reason to kill the IdeaSystem and also Lenny and
Edeleman were interested in being cutting edge on
the "designer law" of the day). Oh well, them's the
breaks.

3/62. IWGY A Number 19:13 Tue Apr 18/23 4 lines

Yah, I know. I don't know the detailed history of
Jerian, but he was definitely strange. Imagine calling
the help desk and saying "I think the user database
is corrupt..."

3/63. Flash Mack (ZOOOOOOM! - KZAAAA!) 10:55 Thu Apr 20/23 2 lines

Yah, King Frank - Lee is old and frail. Its a good
idea we aren't physically co-located.

3/64. Siobhan Medbhb O'Roarke 21:45 Mon Apr 24/23 3 lines

Now now, Flash - He just doesn't want to be
knocked over and I doubt he liked it when you
were both young and spry.

3/65. Tom Stevenson 08:49 Wed Apr 26/23 6 lines

Most of that is urban legend. Flash bumped in to
Lee twice that I know of. The most spectacular
collision was really not a hard collision, it just
resulted in a tall deck of assembler code cards
ending up all over the floor. That was 1974, I
beleive....

3/66. The Brinx 20:34 Fri Apr 28/23 14 lines

Don't make fun of Jerian - he is an accomplished
PHD, so he may be strange, but in a good way.

The one thing about the Z-Project is that once it
came in, I could get rid of having to manage that
damn AFVL project.

I do agree, it was flimsy compared to U of M's
"request id" program. We argued for a better
program, but you are all correct in your assesment,
that King Frank did not completely uproot the
Agitators for a Detatched System and they were
still there putting a bug in the ear of the BoD
members.
